Biography
Ahn Sang-soo is a renowned typographer and graphic designer. He studied at Hongik University and holds a Ph.D. from Hanyang University.
He served as a professor in the Visual Communication Design Department at his alma mater, Hongik University, focusing mainly on typography, particularly Hangeul.
Since his debut solo exhibition at the Rodin Gallery in 2002, he has showcased his work at major exhibitions such as Nalgae-PaTI at the Seoul Museum of Art in 2017, along with numerous other solo and group exhibitions in Korea and abroad.
In 2007, he was awarded the prestigious Gutenberg Prize from the City of Leipzig. Ahn is also a visiting professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and has been a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 1999.
In 2013, Ahn founded the Paju Typography Institute (PaTI), where he currently serves as Principal, continuing to explore creative projects and pioneering new approaches in design education.
