Hjalti Karlsson and Jan Wilker are the co-founders of karlssonwilker, the New York-based design studio they launched in 2000. Karlssonwilker is known for deeply original work across the cultural and commercial worlds—driven by discovery and an intuitive sense of place, narrative, and humor, the studio brings a distinct point of view to every project, creating identities, environments, and experiences that are unexpected, engaging, and built to resonate. Their client roster includes Calder Gardens, the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation, MoMA, Bloomberg Businessweek, Reykjavik Art Museum and Remai Modern, among others.

Hjalti Karlsson is a frequent design speaker and judge, serving on numerous international juries, including as chairman of the design jury at the Clio Awards, and is a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). Karlsson is the 2013 recipient of the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize, the world's highest endowed design award, for his outstanding achievements in graphic design. Jan Wilker serves as President of AGI's US Group and has taught at Cooper Union, the School of Visual Arts, and Parsons, and continues to lecture and lead workshops for designers around the world.
