In 2005, representing hong kong, his "red-white-blue" installation was presented at the venice biennale. in 2011, he received the hong kong art development award for best artist of the year (visual arts). this was followed by the hong kong contemporary art award presented by the hong kong museum of art in 2012. 

his solo exhibition "two men show / anothermountainman x stanley wong" was held at ggg (ginze graphic gallery, tokyo, japan, in 2015. from 2019 to 2020, the hong kong heritage museum presented a major retrospective of his forty years of work titled "time will tell".

In 2020, he was named a DFA world's outstanding chinese designer by the hong kong design centre. from the 1990 to 2025, he has received more than 600 creative awards including d&ad yellow pencil, one show gold tokyo tdc award...

his design and art works have been collected by numerous chinese and international museums, including m+ in Hong Kong and the victoria and albert museum in london.
