Vangelis Liakos

Vangelis is a designer, co-founder and creative director at Beetroot, one of Greece’s leading creative studios. For over 25 years, Vangelis has led the Beetroot team in the creation of an internationally recognized body of work spanning visual communication, branding, cultural projects and exhibitions. Beetroot’s creative output is awarded important international distinctions each year, and it is exhibited in museums, galleries, and festivals around the world. Over the years, Vangelis’ interests have expanded to include projects at the intersection of design, culture, and society, where he explores how visual communication can help build connections and encourage the growth of creative communities. He has been invited to speak at design schools, universities, festivals and conferences. In 2023, he was elected member of AGI. Since 2024, he also serves as Company Manager and Creative Director of yiayia and friends, a brand dedicated to high-quality Greek food products and the culture of Mediterranean living, where he oversees the brand’s expansion across international markets.
