Julia Hasting

Julia Hasting is a German graphic designer based in Zurich. She is internationally recognized for her highly conceptual and uniquely crafted book designs. For over two decades, she has served as the creative director of the international art publishing house Phaidon, where her approach to book design helped shape the company's core product strategy. Her work has earned numerous international awards. She taught publication design at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York and frequently serves on international design juries and participates in conferences. In 2000, she became a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).

Hasting was born in Bremen, Germany, and studied visual communication at Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, Germany. Before moving to Zurich in 2008, she was based first in London and then in New York for eight years. Her work encompasses book design, corporate identities, posters, and illustrations for various cultural institutions.
